Curriculum Integration
The University of California continues to encourage, support, and empower teachers to develop new, and strengthen existing, integrated courses. This session will focus on the tools, professional development opportunities, grants, and other resources available to schools and teachers for integrated curriculum development. The UC Curriculum Integration (UCCI) Institutes will also be highlighted. These professional development Institutes bring together academic and CTE high school teachers, for a 4-day training dedicated to designing innovative model courses that integrate CTE and "a-g" curriculum capable of statewide implementation. Learn about the "a-g" approved UCCI curriculum developed at these Institutes and hear from past participants about their experiences creating and teaching these courses. This session will also preview the upcoming Spring 2012 UCCI Institutes focusing on the Arts, Media, and Entertainment sector with the "a-g" subject area of English and Building and Construction in conjunction with the "a-g" subject area of mathematics.
